The IDF’s top spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari says, amid the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip and frequent clashes on the Lebanon border.

“We are always looking around us, in the entire Middle East. The IDF will operate anywhere in the Middle East to fulfill Israel’s security aims. We are highly prepared in all arenas.”

The former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak has defended the expected ground offensive in Gaza and they will do whatever they can to protect innocent civilians.

Barak told German broadcaster Deutsche Welle, “There is no way to root out the Hamas operations from the Gaza Strip through air attacks, diplomacy, wishes from Israel on the TV station and global support.

“It has to be done by soldiers on the ground facing the risk of paying with their lives.”

Barak added that Israel would do its “utmost to follow the international law,” but warned he cannot guarantee there will be no collateral damage in Gaza.

Barak added, “We do whatever we can, and ‘whatever we can’ means to tell everyone in advance to move.

“They already had four days to leave, and I’m sure that if there will be people who are incapable of moving, then the UN and other services can take them from their home and move them beyond the Gaza River.”
