China Rejects Ukraine’s Claim of Citizens in Russian Military, Russia Protests Diplomat’s Detention.

Chinese Govt. has rejected Ukraine’s claims that Chinese citizens are serving in the Russian military. China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, Lin Jian termed the Ukrainian claim as baseless. He added that the Chinese government has consistently advised its citizens to avoid areas of armed conflict and to refrain from participating in military activities on either side.

Yesterday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed that Ukrainian forces had captured two Chinese citizens fighting with the Russian army. He also posted a video on social media with images of one of the prisoners.

In another event, Russia sent a note of protest to the French Foreign Ministry and summoned the country’s ambassador in Moscow to complain after a Russian diplomat was detained by border guards at a Paris airport.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that the official was travelling to France on April 6 as part of an official delegation and had been given a French visa.
