BSF Honors 1971 War Heroes on Raja Mohtam Day with Tributes & New Initiatives.

In Punjab, Director General of Border Security Force (BSF) Daljit Singh Chawdhary visited Ferozepur to participate in Raja Mohtam Day and pay tributes to the fallen soldiers of the 1971 war at Border Out Post (BoP) Raja Mohtam.

The day commemorates R. K. Wadhwa, Assistant Commandant of 31 Bn BSF, who, along with his eight brave comrades, made the supreme sacrifice defending Raja Mohtam

Post during the Indo-Pak War on this day in 1971. On this historic occasion, the DG BSF also released a documentary titled “Raja Mohtam: An Untold Saga of BSF Bravery” and inaugurated world-class Mahila Barracks at BoP Raja Mohtam and other BoPs, virtually.

Like previous years, BSF observed ‘Raja Mohtam Martyrdom Day’ with great enthusiasm at the border post-Raja Mohtam.  India-Pakistan 1971 War during which BSF played a vital role in Punjab. During the war on 07th Dec 1971, R K Wadhwa AC gallantly led the column of brave border men through the heavily mined area under intense and accurate enemy fire.On this occasion, a short film based on Raja Mohtam and Hussainiwala War was screened.

Like previous years, the event was celebrated with great pomp, in memory of brave border guards who sacrificed their lives in the Indo-Pak war of 1971
