As the ‘Operation Sindoor’ has made every Indian proud and thankful to the Armed Forces, people living on Punjab border with Pakistan are assuring their full support to the Indian forces in case the neighbouring country dares to disturb peace in this border state.
The state has a 553 kilometer long border with Pakistan. Residents of Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Gurdaspur and Pathankot who have seen action during 1965 and 1971 India-Pakistan war and 1999 Kargil action are ready to stand by the Indian armed forces.
The Border Security Force (BSF) man this fenced border as a first line of defence, are also prepared to face any contingency. Official sources have confirmed to Akashvani that the BSF is alert and ready to tackle any eventuality that might crop up on boder in view of India’s action under ‘Opration Sindoor’. The force has also decided not to open retreat ceremony at Attarti border for the general public.
The Kartarpur Corridor, opened for pilgrimage to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur, Pakistan has also been closed for now.
BJP, Congress and all other political parties are supporting the action. Punjab Chief Minister has said that Punjab is standing by the armed forces.
