According to official sources, an exchange of fire occurred in the dense forest, which is known for its challenging terrain.

According to senior police authorities, the joint team comprising Jammu and Kashmir Police along with paramilitary and army units launched a search mission in the village based on prior intelligence inputs. During the operation, contact was established with the ultras, leading to an intense gunfight. Initial reports suggest that two to three terrorists are likely holed up in the vicinity.

In a separate development, another encounter unfolded in the Chatroo sector of Kishtwar district. As per official sources, the operation commenced after troops received actionable intelligence and engaged with the terrorists in the area.

A heavy exchange of bullets was still underway at both locations at the time of filing this report.
