In the Kashmir Valley, one heavily armed terrorist was neutralised in an encounter that broke out between security forces and terrorists after a suspicious movement was spotted by security forces along LoC in the Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
According to a social media post of Srinagar-based Chinar Corps, when the joint anti-infiltration operation was launched by the Indian Army and Jammu & Kashmir Police in the area, the terrorists were challenged by the joint team of forces.
However, the terrorists opened indiscriminate fire upon the security forces, which was effectively retaliated, resulting in the elimination of one terrorist in the gunfight.
The identity of the slain terrorist is being ascertained. Security forces have recovered one AK rifle, two AK magazines, 57 AK rounds, two pistols, three pistol magazines, and other warlike stores from the encounter site. Meanwhile, the search of the area is underway, and the operation was in progress till the reports last came in.
