In Ladakh, given the upcoming visit of the 14th Dalai Lama to Zanskar, Deputy Commissioner and CEO of LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, along with Senior Superintendent of Police Kargil, Shree Ram R, reviewed the preparations at key locations yesterday.
The officials visited the helipad, Duzin Photang, and New Photang at Karsha, and held discussions with concerned departments regarding logistical, infrastructural, and security arrangements. They also assessed parking and crowd management plans for VVIPs, VIPs, and the general public, ensuring smooth arrival and departure routes.
Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar directed all departments to complete the remaining works by Friday, stressing on timely and coordinated efforts to ensure a dignified and well-organised reception for the Dalai Lama.
The visit of the Dalai Lama is being seen as a significant spiritual event for the people of Zanskar and the entire Kargil district.
