Veteran Communist Party of India-Marxist leader M M Lawrence passed away at a private hospital following a prolonged illness, today. He was 95 years old. He was ailing and was mostly confined to his home in Kochi after he left active politics.
Lawrence was a Lok Sabha member from Idukki from 1980 till 1984 and he was known for advocacy of workers’ rights. Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, Leader of Opposition V.D. Satheesan and others paid tributes to the veteran Communist leader.
