Union Minister Nityanand Rai inaugurates 9 border outposts of Sashastra Seema Bal in Madhubani district.

Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai inaugurated nine border outposts of the Sashastra Seema Bal in Madhubani district. Addressing a function at Rajnagar, in Madhubani on Sunday, Mr. Rai praised the courage and dedication of the SSB personnel. The Union Minister assured that the Central Government gives top priority to the welfare and morale of the jawans.

While the Gangaur BOP was inaugurated on-site, the remaining seven were dedicated virtually, marking a major step in enhancing border surveillance and improving facilities for SSB personnel.

Presiding over the ceremony as chief guest, Rai was joined by Ashok Kumar Yadav, MP, Madhubani; Sudhanshu Shekhar, MLA, Harlakhi; Amrit Mohan Prasad, IPS, director general, SSB; Nishit Kumar Ujjwal, IPS, inspector general, Frontier HQ, Patna; Saroj Kumar Thakur, IPS, deputy inspector general, Sector HQ, Muzaffarpur; and Govind Singh Bhandari, commandant, 48th Battalion, along with other SSB officers and jawans.

Rai unveiled plaques for the eight state-of-the-art BOPs, constructed at a total cost exceeding Rs 27 crore. The outposts are designed to enhance operational efficiency while providing improved living and working conditions for personnel.

“These modern outposts reflect our govt’s commitment to strengthening security forces, boosting jawans’ morale and border vigilance,” Rai said. “The SSB’s role in nation-building is unparalleled,” he added.Amrit Mohan Prasad, director general of SSB, said, “These BOPs symbolise our dedication and service. The SSB’s contributions to border security, disaster management and anti-Maoist operations remain exemplary.”
