Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announces Rs 20,000 cr worth road projects for Mizoram.

Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari announced the beginning of 20,000 crore rupees road construction projects from 2024 which will connect nine districts of Mizoram. He added that the road will also connect Manipur and Nagaland in the country and Myanmar in the International boundary.

Addressing a public meeting at the BJP Election Campaign at West Phaileng within Dampa Constituency in Mizoram on Monday, the Minister said that infrastructure is the most important element for development. There can not be any development without infrastructure, he said. He added that the NDA Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has achieved seven world records in road construction.

Mr Gadkari stated that that 355 km of road construction costing  8000 crore rupees was completed in Mizoram after he took charge as Minister. The Minister also informed that the 373 km long Aizawl – Tuipang road which connects six districts of Mizoram costing 7361 crore rupees will be completed by 2024. He also said, the construction of roads will give a better connectivity to Myanmar which will further economic development and create job opportunities in Mizoram.
Mr Gadkari also said the Aizawl by-pass road, 2.5 km tunnel and road length of 34 km amounting to 2500 crore rupees will be completed by 2025 which will solve the problem of traffic jams in the State capital. He also informed that the Kaladan Multi Modal Transit Transport Project with a cost of 1132 crore rupees will be completed by November 2023. This road is helpful for connecting Sittwe port in Myanmar, he added.

The Minister said that his dream is to create opportunities for the poor and the farmers. He also said that the BJP is committed to the economic transformation of the Northeast. The Minister promised to change the infrastructure of Mizoram to an International standard. He further said, land problems will be solved if the BJP is voted to power in the State. Mr. Gadkari remarked that the BJP is committed to the development of all the citizens of the country. He said that the BJP will provide livelihood opportunities in th State under the LOTUS (livelihood, opportunity, transformations and upliftment) scheme.
