The polling is underway for the gram panchayat elections in Punjab. Voting is taking place peacefully in the majority of districts, but some areas have reported incidents of violence.
According to reports from various districts in Punjab, an average of over 35 percent of voting has taken place so far in most areas.
Polling started at 8 this morning and will continue until 4 PM. The election results will be declared after the polling is over. The polling is being conducted using ballot papers.
The option of NOTA is also included on the ballot papers.There are 13,937 gram panchayats in the state.
