In Punjab, Amritsar Rural Police has recovered 23 Kg of Heroin from a village in Jandiala, Amritsar.
The consignment was linked to a smuggling network operated by a USA-based Indian-origin smuggler who has links in Punjab.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Border Range, Satinder Singh said that the operation was conducted on a reliable input and 23 packets of heroin were recovered from a pinpointed location.
The DIG said that police teams are on the hunt to nab the accused who is in contact with the US based smugglers. He retrieved the consignment sent from across the border.
