Polling Peacefully Concludes in Bihar for Six Nagar Panchayats and 36 Municipal By-Elections.

In Bihar, polling was peacefully concluded today for general election in six Nagar Panchayats and by-poll in 36 other municipal bodies. According to the State Election Commission, an estimated 62.41 percent voter turnout was recorded in the polling held.


With this election Bihar successfully conducted the process of e-Voting system using mobile based applications. Talking to Akashvani News, State Election Commissioner Dipak Prasad said that the voter turnout for e-Voting was more than 70 percent.

Mr. Prasad said compared to polling booths voting more voters come forward to exercise their right to franchise. At polling booths 54.63 percent polling was recorded.

Mr. Prasad said the successful implementation of today’s in Bihar in municipal bodies elections the e-Voting has opened future avenues and revolutionary reforms in the process of voting.

Electoral fate of a total 538 candidates for Chief Councillor, Deputy Chief Councillor and other posts of municipal bodies were sealed in EVMs today.  The counting of votes will be held on 30th June.
