Over 21,700 Kanals of Land Allocated for Industrial Estates in J&K. Deputy CM Surinder Choudary.

In Jammu and Kashmir, the Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Choudary, today said that 14,956 kanals and 15 marlas of land in Jammu Division and 6,745 kanals and 19 marlas of land in Kashmir Division have been transferred for the establishment of industrial estates in the UT. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the minister was replying to a question raised by Ali Mohammad Dar.

The minister informed the House that the intents have also been placed for 9661.05 kanals of land and 5000.13 kanals for the establishment of industrial estates in Jammu and Kashmir, respectively.

He said that among others, education and skill development figures in the Focus Sector List of the J&K Industrial Policy 2021-30 which is also part of the Service Sector Positive List of the New Central Sector Scheme (NCSS) 2021. He said that under the Jammu and Kashmir Start-Up Policy notified in February 2024, 596 applicants have been registered, out of which 436 applicants have been recognised as start-ups. 26 of these applicants are in the skill development and education sector.

Besides, he said that the Industrial Estates have been designated as Sector Specific Industrial Estates in the Sectors of Education and Skill Development, Health and Medical Education in the Jammu Division and H&ME, and Technical Education and Information Technology in the Service Sectors, comprising more than 3628 kanals of land in both Divisions.
