Nagaland’s Hornbill Festival has been honoured with the ‘Silver Banyan Award for Best Cultural Music & Dance’ by THE WEEK Heritage Awards.
The award ceremony took place in New Delhi yesterday, where Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, presented the award.
Joint Resident Commissioner of Nagaland House, New Delhi, Sharon Longchari received the award on behalf of the State. The Heritage Awards are presented to protect, preserve and promote the country’s rich heritage and culture.
Nagaland’s annual Hornbill Festival was awarded the “Silver Banyan Award for Best Cultural Music & Dance” by The Week, Heritage Awards during a function held in New Delhi on September 13, 2025.
According to PRO Nagaland House New Delhi, the joint resident commissioner, Nagaland House New Delhi, Sharon Longchari, received the award on behalf of the State from Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, who graced the award function.
The Heritage Awards is presented to protect, preserve and promote the country’s rich heritage and culture.
The award categories ranged from Historical Tourism Award/ Heritage Tourism Award, Riverside Heritage Tourism Award, Best Tourist Circuit, Pilgrimage and Spiritual Tourism Award, Traditional Skills Award, Best Cultural Music & Dance Award, Best Travel Operator, Best Advertising Agency and Best Creative.
