Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Tokhan Sahu, visited the Ferozepur and Moga districts of Punjab to assess the progress of the Aspirational Districts Programme. This initiative, launched by the Centre, aims to transform the country’s most underdeveloped districts.
During his visit to Ferozepur, the Minister reviewed key sectors including health and nutrition, education, agriculture, water conservation, financial inclusion, and infrastructure development. He stressed the importance of ensuring that 100 percent of eligible individuals benefit from all central government schemes.
The Minister also visited an under-construction Primary Health Center and the remote campus of the 200-bedded PGI facility, which will significantly improve healthcare services in Punjab’s border areas.
He interacted with beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban. The Minister paid tribute to the martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev at their Samadhi at Hussainiwala Border in Ferozepur, and also offered respects at the Samadhi Sathal of Bhagat Singh’s mother, Vidyawati.
