A combined team of Assam Rifles and Manipur Police conducted a joint operation at Moltingcham Village under Sugnu Police Station of Kakching district on Tuesday and recovered arms and ammunition.
The Police report said that the recovered items includes one local made rifle, two BaoFeng handset, one Chinese hand grenade, one Lethod shell, one pistol magazine, two point 303 magazine charger base, one grenade key, one two inches grenade key, one two inches mortar shell wing, two local made pompy launcher and others.
The recovered items were seized at the spot and a case has been taken up at Sugnu Police Station and initiated investigation.
According to police reports, CDO unit Kakching and Waikhong Police along with a platoon of A-Coy 126 Battalion of BSF conducted a cordon and search operation at Langmeidong Laimanai area in Kakching district.
In the midst of the operation, the team received an input that some warlike weapons were concealed at Laimanai Laimaton Hill area.
