Maharashtra. Narcotic drugs worth Rs 6 cr. seized from Pune airport.

In a major operation conducted by the Customs Department, more than 6,000 grams of narcotic substances were seized from Pune Airport. The seized drugs are estimated to be worth around 6 crore rupees in the international market, as per initial assessments.

The contraband was recovered from a flight that had arrived from Bangkok. The narcotics were found in a bag belonging to Atul Sushil Hiwale.

Upon suspicion by an official at Pune Airport, Hiwale’s luggage was inspected, leading to the discovery of the drugs. Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.

Meanwhile, in a separate case, Pune Police’s Anti-Narcotics Squad seized approximately 27 kilograms of narcotic substances valued at around 5.5 lakh rupees. One person has been arrested in connection with this case.
