J&K Legislative Assembly to hold training program for newly elected MLAs from Jan 9-11.

In Jammu and Kashmir, the Legislative Assembly will be conducting a 3-day long training programme for newly elected MLAs. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the training programme will be held from January 9-11, 2025, at the Central Hall of the Legislative Assembly in Jammu.

Organised in collaboration with the Parliamentary Research and Training Institute for Democracies (PRIDE), Lok Sabha Secretariat, New Delhi, the program aims to enhance legislators’ capacity to address public issues.

One session has been exclusively devoted to the National e-Vidhan Project (NeVA) aimed at making the Legislature paperless. Experts from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and senior Parliamentarians are expected to attend a three-day orientation programme for the MLAs of the J&K Legislative Assembly.

There are 51 first-time newly elected MLAs among a total of 88 legislators in the House of 90 in the Union Territory. Earlier, the Speaker of the J&K Legislative Assembly, Abdul Rahim Rather, reviewed arrangements for the training program and directed officials to ensure timely arrangements.
