J&K Economic Survey 2025. Report suggests 10.6% increase in per capita income.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah tabled the Economic Survey Report-2025 in the ongoing Budget session of the Legislative Assembly today.

The Survey Report suggests that the per capita income is set to increase to 1,54,703 rupees, marking a 10.6 percent increase, reflecting improved economic well-being for the citizens. Mr Abdullah said it is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the people of the Union Territory.

He said that the government is committed and focused on inclusive growth, infrastructure development, and sustainable practices. The report gives a comprehensive view of Jammu and Kashmir’s economic landscape and highlights some significant achievements in key sectors.

According to the report, the unemployment rate has declined to 6.1 percent in 2023-24, down from 6.7 percent in 2019-20, indicating enhanced job opportunities. The real Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) is projected to grow at 7.06 percent in 2024-25, with the nominal GSDP expected to increase by 11.19 percent, reaching 2.65 lakh crore rupees.
