Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will hold pre-budget consultations with MLAs and District Development Council (DDC) chairpersons from today.
Mr. Abdullah who also holds charge of the Finance Department, will be presenting his maiden budget in the Assembly session beginning 3rd of March. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the Chief Minister will interact with MLAs from four districts today and tomorrow.
He will hold consultations with MLAs and DDC chairpersons of Anantnag, Budgam, Kathua, and Samba districts today and will hold similar meetings with legislators of Baramulla, Kulgam, Ramban, and Udhampur tomorrow.
The meetings are aimed at making the budget more inclusive and participatory. The MLA’s views will be taken to identify priority sector works to the tune of 40 crore rupees in their respective constituencies. The list of these priority-sector works has been submitted by DCs to the Government.
