In Ladakh, the ICDS Project Shargole organised the National Girl Child Day at the Government High School Shargole.
Presiding over the event, CDPO Farida Batool said that ICDS Project Shargole is dedicated to community empowerment and gender equality, remains at the forefront of fostering positive change. She emphasized the evolving role of women in shaping policies, despite societal norms that undervalue the significance of the girl child.
Eminent speakers present at the event also highlighted girls’ rights enshrined in the Indian constitution. They also addressed the need to eradicate social taboos and encouraged reporting instances of domestic violence to their office for assistance.
The celebrations emphasised the collective commitment to creating a more inclusive and progressive society, echoing the theme of empowerment for the girl child.
