The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast very heavy rainfall over Himachal Pradesh for today and over East Rajasthan for today and tomorrow.
IMD said heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over isolated places over Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Odisha, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, and the north eastern states tomorrow.
Parts of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, and Jharkhand are expected to witness thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds during the next 2-3 days.
IMD further predicted hot and humid weather conditions in places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal tomorrow.
According to the IMD, heavy to very heavy rainfall will continue over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya during the next 7 days with increased rainfall activity from next month. Heavy rainfall will likely occur over Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar and Chhattisgarh till tomorrow.
Similar conditions will continue over Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh till the end of this month. The weather agency has also forecast light to moderate rainfall over Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana during the next 7 days. Meanwhile, similar weather conditions will continue over Delhi-NCR tomorrow.
