The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has today issued orange alert over parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan for two days with cold to severe cold day conditions to continue.
Talking to Akashvani News, Senior Scientist in IMD, RK Jenamani said dense to very dense fog will continue at night and morning over parts of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Odisha during the next two days. These conditions will also prevail over Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura for the next three days.
The IMD also predicts light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning in parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep and south Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 4 to 5 days. Light to moderate rainfall is also expected over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Sikkim for the next two days and over Madhya Pradesh for the next five days. It added that light rain and snowfall are expected over Western Himalayan Region and plains of Northwest India from the 8th of this month.
