The Weather Department has asked fishermen not to venture into the sea, as squally weather with windspeed reaching up to 55 kmph is likely to prevail along and off the coast of Kerala and Lakshadweep. Meanwhile, the district authorities in Pathanamthitta said water from Muzhiyar dam and Maniyar barrage is likely to be released to adjust the water level following heavy rain in the catchment areas. Those living along the banks of Kakkattar and Pampa have been asked to remain alert.
