In Tripura, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast hot and humid weather conditions for next five days. It said, due to partly cloudy sky conditions, high solar insolation and transport of hot westerly winds, the day temperature is likely to be 36 degrees and above at one or two places over the districts of Tripura.
The Met department further said that in some places, the temperature will be three to four degrees above the normal for the next five days. Besides, due to atmospheric moisture in some districts of the state humidity levels will also see a rise.
Both maximum and minimum temperature is expected to remain 3°C to 4°C higher than the normal in different parts. The increase of air temperature is likely to increase air moisture in certain parts of Tripura, further contributing to rising humidity, the report said.
Although the state received scanty rainfall in isolated places in different districts, Agartala has not recorded any rain in the past three months, creating an unusual environment.”The prevailing weather conditions pose health risks like heat exhaustion, heat stroke, dehydration and exacerbation of pre-existing diseases, including asthma, heart and kidney related ailments,” it added.
