IMD forecasts heavy rainfall to continue over Tamil Nadu, Kerala for next two days.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the wet spell is likely to continue over Northwest India till Tuesday.

The IMD in its bulletin on Monday said that in Northwest India there will be light to moderate rainfall at many places, along with isolated thunderstorms and lightning at some isolated locations till tomorrow.

There is also a likelihood of hailstorms occurring at isolated places in Uttarakhand and West Rajasthan. The weather agency also forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu and Kerala during the next 24 hours and reduction thereafter.

The agency said a low-pressure area is likely to develop over the southeast and adjoining east-central Arabian Sea during the next 48 hours. IMD said It is likely to move further west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over the central Arabian Sea around the 21st of October 2023.

In East India, there’s a forecast for light to moderate rainfall at many places, with isolated heavy rainfall expected along with thunderstorms and lightning over the Andaman & Nicobar Islands till Wednesday. The IMD said there is no significant weather expected over the rest of the country during the next five days.
