The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall at isolated places over Odisha, Assam, and Meghalaya today. Parts of Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Telangana, North Interior Karnataka, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, and Sikkim are likely to experience thunderstorms and gusty winds during the next 2-3 days.
According to the weather department, heat wave condition is expected today at a few places over West and East Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Saurashtra, and Kutch. IMD further predicted dust storm conditions in Uttar Pradesh today.
Due to multiple troughs and a cyclonic circulation over north Bangladesh, Eastern and Central India are likely to witness widespread rainfall and thunderstorms. Strong winds and isolated hailstorm activities are also forecasted.
IMD has also warned of isolated hailstorm activity on April 30 across Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and West Bengal.
A fresh Western Disturbance will affect northwest India from May 2 onwards, bringing rainfall, thunderstorms, and dust storms. These changes will impact Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and the hilly regions of Himachal and Uttarakhand.
