In Uttarakhand, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in various parts of the state today and tomorrow.
The Met Department has issued an orange alert for isolated areas in Bageshwar and Rudraprayag districts over the next two days, warning of heavy to very heavy rain. During this period, a yellow alert has also been issued for rainfall in other parts of the state, and the general public has been advised to remain alert.
Apart from the four districts on high alert, nine other districts are likely to experience intermittent rain. The weather department has also warned of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, urging residents, especially those in vulnerable areas, to remain cautious.
Due to the threat of flash floods and rising water levels, people living close to rivers and streams have been asked to stay vigilant. The Disaster Management Department has activated statewide alerts in response to the IMD warning.
According to Vikram Singh, Director of the Meteorological Center, heavy rainfall is expected to continue till July 9 in various parts of Garhwal and Kumaon regions. Plains may witness thunderstorms along with rainfall during this period.
