Gujarat Witnesses Relief From Incessant Rains.

Gujarat has witnessed relief from the incessant rains. Rain intensity significantly reduced in flood-hit Saurashtra and South Gujarat region however normal life remained affected due to waterlogging at several places.

Meanwhile, IMD has predicted widespread heavy rainfall in north and Central Gujarat for the next 24 hours while an orange alert of heavy to very rainfall at isolated places has been issued for four coastal districts of South Gujarat including Surat and Navsari. A report from our correspondent :

After Kutch, Saurashtra and South Gujarat region, districts of Central Gujarat and parts of North Gujarat witnessed rainfall today. Although the intensity of the rains has reduced I Saurashtra and South Gujarat region, many places are still submerged in water affecting normal life. After the heavy rainfall, as many as 40 dams in the state are overflowing. NDRF teams successfully shifted several people living in low-lying areas in flood-affected districts and also rescued people stranded in flood water in Surat, Porbandar and Vadodara districts today. May rivers including Purna, Vishwamitri and Damanganga are flowing above the danger mark. Relief Commissioner Alok Kumar Pandey said two deaths were reported due to rains in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 63.
