In Gujarat, intensity of rains reduced in Saurashtra region of Gujarat during the last 24 hours. However, several parts of Devbhoomi Dwaraka district are still under water after the incessant rains since last week. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel conducted aerial survey of the flood-affected region of Saurashtra and held a review meeting with the officials yesterday.
Akashvani correspondent reports that several roads, fields and houses in Kalyanpur and Khambhaliya tehsil of Devbhoomi Dwaraka region are submerged in water affecting normal life. Road transport has also been affected in Devbhoomi Dwaraka, Jamnagar and Junagadh districts due to waterlogging leading to closures of several roads.
Three people died after a house collapsed in khambhalia in Devbhoomi Dwaraka yesterday night. The NDRF team has successfully rescued around 15 people stranded in flood water at Dhalichi village in Dwaraka yesterday. Meanwhile IMD has predicted widespread rainfall across the state for the next three days.
A red alert for heavy to heavy rainfall has been issued for seven districts of the state including Dev Dwaraka, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Surat, Valsad Navsari and Dang. Schools and colleges will remain closed in Navsari district in view of the Red alert.
