The flood situation in Bihar remains unchanged with 1333 panchayats in 130 blocks of 16 districts still remained affected. A population of over 83 lakhs is facing the deluge although in some areas people have returned to their homes as water has partially receded from some villages.
Six relief camps are being run in Khagadia and Samastipur where over 5000 people are sheltered and 1.6 Lakh people are being provided cooked meals through 190 community kitchens in worst hit areas.
More than 10 lakh families have been provided gratia relief of Rs. 6,000 per family through DBT.
According to State Water Resource Department, the water discharge from Kosi and Gandak barrages remained over 1.20 lakh Cusec today.
The river Bagmati is still above the danger mark in Kataunjha, Benibad and Hayaghat, while the river Budhi Gandak is flowing above the danger mark in Rosra and Khagaria. Meanwhile, the Ganga is flowing above red mark in Gandhighat in Patna, Hathidah, and Kahalgaon.
According to met office heavy rain has occurred in the catchment areas of Bagmati and Adwara group of rivers in Nepal which may result in increase of water level in these rivers in Bihar.
