A team of the Election Commission of India will hold discussions with the Chief Secretary and the Director-General of Police of Uttar Pradesh today, on the last day of their three-day visit to the state. The team led by Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra reached Lucknow on Tuesday to take stock of the poll preparedness for the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.
AIR correspondent reports, that After having elaborate discussions with the senior administrative and police officials of the state administration and Expenditure officials yesterday, The full Election Commission team will have discussions regarding the preparedness for assembly elections with the DGP and Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh today morning in Lucknow. Prior to the meeting, the commission will inaugurate Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation i.e sweep exhibition and flag off the matdata express for the awareness of voters. later in the afternoon commission will brief the media about the outcome of the meetings before departure. On Tuesday The ECI team had interacted with the representatives of various political parties. The poll campaign is intensifying day by day in the state which has 403 assembly seats.
