In Bihar, Vikas Sheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief and former minister Mukesh Sahni’s father Jeetan Sahni was murdered by unidentified assailants at his ancestral house in Darbhanga district. The police said that the body of the deceased was found this morning in the ancestral house. Mr. Jeetan Sahni lived alone in the village at his home.
Darbhanga Rural SP Kamya Mishra said, in the prima facie investigation, it appears that a sharp weapon was used in the murder. She said the investigation is underway and all possible angles are being probed to find out the motive behind this murder. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary expressed his condolences and said the culprits will be arrested soon.
Sahani’s severely mutilated body was found on Tuesday morning. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, triggering widespread fear and unease among residents. DSP Manish Chandra Choudhary along with other officers from the Biraul police station also reached the spot and initiated a thorough investigation.
DSP Choudhary indicated that the initial assessment suggests a case of murder. Jitan Sahni was attacked with a sharp weapon by intruders who allegedly broke in with the intention of burglary, he added. The incident occurred while Mukesh Sahni’s father was alone at home.
