Bihar Assembly. Opposition storms well over Law & order, SIR revision. house adjourned till 2 PM.

In Bihar, chaotic scenes prevailed in the State Assembly today as members of the RJD-Congress-led opposition Grand Alliance staged a protest over the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

Due to continuous disruptions, the House was unable to conduct any business. After 20 minutes of uproar, Speaker Nandkishore Yadav adjourned the House till 2 PM.

Today is the second day of the Monsoon Session of the Bihar Legislature, and the opposition Grand Alliance has been cornering the Nitish Kumar-led state government on several pressing issues, including SIR and public safety concerns.

Earlier, when the House met at 11 AM for the day, members of the opposition CPI-ML and RJD dressed in black and holding placards stormed into the well of the House, raising slogans against both the state and central governments.

Despite repeated appeals from the Speaker to return to their seats, the opposition members continued their protest. During the protest, some members attempted to overturn the reporters’ table, prompting strong criticism from the Speaker over the unruly conduct.  Amid the pandemonium, the Speaker adjourned the House till 2 PM.

Earlier in the day, Grand Alliance members also staged a protest outside the main gate of the Bihar Assembly, raising slogans against both the State and Central governments.
