In Bengaluru, overnight rain has inundated several parts of the city, causing one death.
The 35-year-old woman died due to the wall collapsing over her in Whitefield. At Kengeri, around 100 houses were flooded, and pump sets were used to flush out water. The city received 66 mm of rainfall at night. Koramangala, Indiranagar, Silk Board Junction, Sri Sai layout, and Rainbow Drive layout witnessed waterlogging over roads and into houses.
Several vehicles were submerged in stranded water on the roads. The overflowing water drains have submerged residential areas in Byrasandra layout, Kempegowda road and Kamaraj Nagar. Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar who is incharge for Bengaluru has said that municipal corporation officials have been tasked to take up relief measures.
The municipal corporation has rushed tractors, JCBs, pump sets and fire service personnel along with NDRF teams to supply food and drinking water in Mahadevapura inundated by rain water. They are clearing fallen trees and inundation across the city.
