In response to the major breach in the Budameru canal near Vijayawada, 40 Army engineers from the Indian Army Engineer Task Force have been deployed to seal the breach and restore normalcy in the flood-affected regions.
Additional Army units are on standby for further deployment. Local authorities are working with disaster management teams to repair the damage, monitor flood levels, and provide relief to affected residents.
Earlier, the Andhra Pradesh government had sought help from the Indian Army to address a breach caused by overflowing floodwaters.
