Gujarat Titans knocked Royal Challengers Bangalore out of the IPL with a six-wicket victory in the last league match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru last night.
Put into bat first, Bangalore posted a total of 197 for five wickets in 20 overs riding on Virat Kohli’s unbeaten knock of 101 runs off 61 balls. For Gujarat, Noor Ahmad scalped two wickets.
In reply, Gujarat chased down the target, for the loss of four wickets in 19.1 overs as Shubman Gill scored his 2nd IPL century.
Earlier yesterday, Mumbai Indians defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets at the Wankhede Stadium. With this, Bangalore are now out of IPL playoff and Mumbai Indians have become the 4th team to qualify. Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants have already qualified for the play-offs.
Defending champions Gujarat Titans are all set to face Chennai Super Kings in the first Qualifier tomorrow while Mumbai Indians will lock horns with Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator on Wednesday.
