India makes strong start at ISSF World Cup winning gold, silver, bronze.

In Shooting, India made a strong start to their ISSF World Cup campaign in Lima, winning gold, silver, and bronze on the opening day. In the Women’s 10m Air Pistol event, young sensation Suruchi Singh clinched gold, beating Olympic medallist compatriot Manu Bhaker, who settled with the silver.

The 18-year-old Suruchi stole the show with a stellar score of 243.6 in the final, earning her back-to-back World Cup titles. She edged past Bhaker by a margin of 1.3 points.

In Men’s 10 metre Air Pistol, Saurabh Chaudhary made a strong comeback in top tier competition, claiming bronze. The medal is his first individual ISSF medal in two years.

The Indian squad will now head to Lima, Peru, for the second leg of the combined ISSF World Cup. The Lima competitions begin from April 15, 2025, and are expected to be key Olympic qualifiers.
