Chasing a target of 515 runs, Bangladesh were bundled out for 234 runs in their second inning on Day 4. For hosts, Ravichandran Ashwin claimed a six-wicket haul, powering India to a comprehensive victory.
At the end of day three yesterday, Bangladesh were at 158 for the loss of 4 wickets when stumps were drawn. India declared their second innings on 287 for 4 on Day 3 with the help of Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant’s centuries, putting the hosts firmly in control of the opening test between the neighbouring countries.
The hosts were already in the ascendancy since bundling out Bangladesh for 149 in their first inning and claiming a lead of 227.
