In the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, Afghanistan has set a target of 292 runs for Australia at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
In reply, Australia was 170 for 7 wickets in 30.1 overs when reports last came in.
Opting to bat after winning the toss, Afghanistan posted 291 for the loss of five wickets in the stipulated 50 overs.
Both teams have played seven matches so far. Australia won five matches till now and will be assured a place in the semi-finals if they register a win in today’s match. Afghanistan on the other hand, won four matches and has a chance to reach the semi-finals if they win their remaining matches against Australia and South Africa.
Australia is currently in 3rd position and Afghanistan is in 6th place in the league table.
