The Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi today extended the judicial custody of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal till the 8th of August in connection with the excise policy case. Mr Kejriwal faced a setback in the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI’s) complaint in the case. He was produced before the court via video conference from Tihar Jail.

Earlier this month, the Supreme Court had granted interim bail to Mr Kejriwal on the 12th of July in the money laundering case filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) concerning the now-scrapped excise policy. However, the Chief Minister remained in Tihar jail as he was separately arrested by the CBI in a corruption case related to the alleged scam.
