Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Says Total Budgetary Allocation For Railways In Andhra Pradesh Is A Staggering Amount Of Rs 9,151 Cr For Years 2024–25.

Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw, has said that the total budgetary allocation for railways in Andhra Pradesh is a staggering amount of 9,151 crore rupees for the years 2024–25.

Mr Ashwini Vaishnaw held a virtual press conference yesterday from New Delhi on highlights of allocations pertaining to Andhra Pradesh State. Addressing the media, the Minister stated that the annual average budget outlay for combined Andhra Pradesh State during the years 2009-14 was only 886 crore rupees.

He said the budget allocations to Andhra Pradesh have been witnessing a sustained increase, with the current year’s allocation being almost ten times the average allocation done during the period of 2009-14 for the combined. The Minister stated that the total cost of on-going railway projects related to new tracks in Andhra Pradesh state is worth 73,743 crore rupees.

The Minister informed us that the railway network in Andhra Pradesh is now 100 per cent electrified. He stated that 151 km average per year of new railway tracks have been laid across the state in the last ten years, as compared to just 73 km during 2009-14. The Minister added that around 73 railway stations in Andhra Pradesh state are being redeveloped as part of the Amrit Bharat station scheme.
