Only mild, asymptomatic people need to be in home isolation: govt

The Union Health Ministry has said that only mild and asymptomatic people need to be in home isolation as most of the Covid-19 omicron cases are mild. In an exclusive interview to AIR News, Joint Secretary in the Health Ministry, Lav Agarwal said, a person having moderate and severe symptoms only needs hospitalisation.
 
Talking about the salient features of the revised guidelines for home isolation of mild and asymptomatic Covid-19 cases, Mr. Agarwal said, patients should remain isolated in a separate room having proper ventilation. He said, patients must use a triple layer mask and it must be discarded after eight hours of use.
 
Mr. Agarwal urged the patients to use tele-medicine facilities like e-Sanjeevini and be in touch with the treating Doctors. He said, if the fever is not getting down after taking the medicines, the patient must immediately consult with the Doctor.
