National academic conclave ‘Gyan Kumbh’ begins in Puducherry.

A three-day national academic conclave, ‘Gyan Kumbh’, organized by Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas in collaboration with Pondicherry University and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), commenced today in Puducherry.

To mark the start of the event, Puducherry MLA P.M.L. Kalyanasundaram and National Secretary of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, Dr. Athul Kothari, flagged off a student rally at Kalapet. The rally also raised awareness about the upcoming World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit slated to be held from February 5 to 9, 2025 at New Delhi. Students from various South Indian states participated in the rally.

As part of the conclave, Puducherry Legislative Assembly Speaker Embalam R. Selvam inaugurated a Bharatiya Knowledge System Exhibition at the Pondicherry University Convention Centre. The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has set up a stall at the exhibition venue to showcase informative videos about Waves.

A special technical session on WAVES is also scheduled on November 23 as part of the conclave. Competitions will be conducted for the students as part of ‘Create in India Challenge – Season 1’, presented by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.

The first day of the conclave also witnessed a session on Pancha Kosha led by retired Professor C.J. Nandakumar from Cochin University of Science and Technology. The inaugural session of the conclave, scheduled for tomorrow will see participation from distinguished dignitaries, including Puducherry Lt. Governor K. Kailashnathan, Chief Minister N.Rangasamy, Education Minister A. Namassivayam, and Puducherry University Vice-Chancellor (In-Charge) Dr. Tharanikkarasu.

The conclave will host a variety of sessions over the next two days, exploring themes such as the implementation of the Bharatiya education system in academic institutions, South India’s contributions to the Bharatiya Knowledge System, the use of Indian languages in legal education and justice delivery, and the significance of value-based education. Dignitaries like Uttarakhand Education Minister Dhan Singh Rawat are expected to participate in the valedictory session.
