Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw today inaugurated the Vinod Dham Centre of Excellence for Semiconductors and Microelectronics at Delhi Technological University. In his address, the minister said that today’s youth have many opportunities available to start a startup.
He added that in today’s time, the youth have access to technology, mentorship, funding and global markets. Talking to the media, Mr Vaisnaw said that in this semiconductor lab, students can actually learn the manufacturing, the fabrication and the design process combined.
The minister stated that the evaluation of AI LLM applications is in its final stage. He said that within the next few weeks, the ministry should be able to award the first few LLM model teams, which then will start getting the funding under the AI mission.
Additionally, Mr Vaishnaw informed us that after the first tranche of 14000 GPUs that country got as a part of the AI mission, the empanelment process for the second tranche is underway.
