Jyotiraditya Scindia Urges Investment in Northeast, Highlights Region’s Gateway to Southeast Asia.

Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya Scindia has asserted that the central government works in partnership with the Seven Sisters and Sikkim.

Addressing a gathering during the North-East Investors Summit Road Show in Mumbai, he said that in order to fulfil the goal of making India a developed country by 2047 as articulated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, everyone should give their full efforts.

He encouraged investors to invest in the North-Eastern states, which he said have their own core competencies, specialities and the gateway to Southeast Asian nations including Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Cambodia etc. Investors will have to go to the North East if they want to experience youth bulge, he added. Underlining various infrastructural and developmental projects in the North East, Mr. Scindia said that he wants to build ‘root bridges’ between the North East and Mumbai.

Chief Minister of Meghalaya Conrad Sangma and Chief Minister of Tripura Dr. Manik Saha also addressed the gathering. Mr. Sangma envisioned the developmental progress that lies ahead for all the North Eastern states of India. Both the Chief Ministers thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya Scindia for providing a platform to enhance investment and business opportunities for NER.
