The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that heat wave conditions will abate in the upcoming few days with the incoming monsoon and thunderstorm conditions in North-West, East and Central India.
Talking to Akashwani News, IMD scientist Soma Sen Roy said that as the eastern arm of the Southwest monsoon extends, heatwaves will reduce in most parts of the country except Uttar Pradesh.
Meanwhile, Dr Roy said that heavy rainfall will very likely descend over Goa, Karnataka and Maharashtra during the next 3-4 days.
