IMD forecasts widespread showers likely across India over next 5 days.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall over Coastal Karnataka, Gujarat, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Uttarakhand and West Uttar Pradesh today.

The weather agency also predicted light to moderate rainfall conditions over Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Madhya Pradesh, and Vidarbha during the next 5 days.

According to the IMD, the Northeast and Northwest parts of the country, along with Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, are also expected to witness light to moderate rainfall conditions during the next 5 days.

The weather agency also predicted light to moderate rainfall conditions over Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Madhya Pradesh, and Vidarbha during the next 5 days.

According to the IMD, the Northeast and Northwest parts of the country, along with Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, are also expected to witness light to moderate rainfall conditions during the next 5 days.

Heavy Rains Lash Gujarat; NDRF-SDRF Teams Deployed

Rains have pounded several areas of Gujarat in the last few days. Rainfall has been reported in almost all the districts of the state.

142 tehsils of Gujarat recorded light to heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours. Nandod in Narmada district received the highest rainfall of nine inches. Eight inches of rain were recorded in Dahod and seven inches in Tilakwada in Narmada district.

A total of 34 teams of NDRF and SDRF have been deployed at the district level to deal with any emergency in the state due to heavy rains. The weather department has predicted rain to continue in the state for the next seven days, and fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea.
