The air quality in the Delhi-NCR region continues to be in the severe category, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 441 this morning. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, some areas of the National Capital have breached the 450 AQI levels.
The AQI at Delhi’s Bawana was recorded at 472, Burari at 483, Anand Vihar at 481, Alipur at 473, Wazirpur at 466, Sonia Vihar at 463, Ashok Vihar at 461, and Sirifort at 459.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that Delhi and the surrounding NCR are likely to experience smog and shallow fog during the night and morning hours over the next two days.
The AQI was recorded 458 at ITO, 471 at Alipur, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium 443, DTU 432, IGI Airport (T3) 418, RK Puram 464, DU North Campus 436, at 7 am on Wednesday, i.e., December 18.
Moreover, the AQI of Chandni Chowk was recorded 374, 348 at Lodhi Road, 344 at Dilshad Garden and 367 at NSIT Dwarka.
